This work shows the sadness of being betrayed. When I took this picture I did some work on my computer by making her tear very noticeable and making anything that was suppose to be light to become darker because the action of betraying or being betrayed is a very dark and hurt emotion. When you look at this image it makes you realize that it was about a relationship

and how it has ended.

This image here is of me leaving town as I see a train pass by. I decided to use this image as well because not all betrayal is about cheating it can also be the betrayal of leaving behind the ones you love. Most people find themselves saying he or she has betrayed me because she has decided to leave me, but it doesn't always mean they are leaving you for someone else it could also mean they have to leave for themselves in order to find something better in life and to get somewhere.

Some betrayal can be ugly ( i.e. cheating) but most can be beautiful ( i.e. moving on and finding a new job or living in a new city to find better things) Either way I would try to find the beauty in everything, Everything has a shell, like an M & M, the shells melt and dye your hands all these colors but in the inside is that delicious beautiful chocolate, you just have to eat as a whole and enjoy the taste. Same thing with betrayal, it has an ugly covering but in the long run whether good or bad you always get a result that will help in some way and sometimes the experience is worth the heartache and tears. You take those as lessons to be learned! Trust me you will survive.

Follow Me Video

Sorry for the trouble but my computer is currently not letting me post a video so i have to put it in my links! As i read the lyrics i notice that it said " I dont care about the ring you wear, because if nobody know then they wont care." I then realized that it was about a married woman cheating on her husband with this person and how shes feeling guilty, but they both know that if they are meant to be together then she shouldn't care cause if it was just between them, then no one will know and there is no big deal about it, but in all reality they are both betraying someone. "Swim through your veins, like a fish in the sea," may sound like a drug reference, but for someone in an affair, the other person can be like an addiction, and you have to hide that "addiction." As for "I'm not the reason that you go astray," this is also explainable by an affair: women don't generally cheat because of sex, they cheat for emotional reasons, because of something wrong in their current relationship that they are trying to find elsewhere. The singer can't give her things, because the woman wouldn't be able to explain it to her husband. He also states that he can't give her the world, but he can give her his heart and love that is about it.

Lets go on an adventure...

Many people hear the word, "betrayal", and think of infidelity, yet the experience is actually much broader. Yes, the hurt feelings can result from a love betrayal, but the same symptoms can also be triggered by an unfaithful coworker or boss; betrayal in a friendship; disloyalty from a workplace, community, even country; the earth appearing to turn on us; or what is sometimes described as the ultimate betrayal - a loss of trust or faith in our relationship with “something bigger, something spiritual”. Regardless of the source, the emotional distress is often severe.

A friend knowingly breaks a confidence that causes hurt and loss of reputation; this is betrayal. ( let's hope not) Or your parents and what not. Betrayal, when you see or even hear the word you picture this dark heavy word. So, on this blog I will be taking you on a very fun adventure of the wonderful world of betrayal. ( Look I just betrayed you right there! This isn't going to be a trip to Disney World, it is going to be informative and slightly boring to all you non literature lovers out there!) This mini adventure will take you to explore the many mishaps of betrayal through three works of literature.

I have chosen the play King Lear by William Shakespeare, with a couple of novels: Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. These works take you on a wild adventure of emotions, but the one that sticks the most is betrayal.

Within King Lear, betrayal plays a critical role in the play and show the workings of wickedness in both the familial and political realms. Through out the acts brothers betray brothers and children betray their fathers. Goneril and Regan’s betrayal of Lear raises them to power in Britain, where Edmund, who has betrayed both Edgar and Gloucester, joins them. The play suggests that betrayers turn on one another, showing how Goneril and Regan fall out when they both become attracted to Edmund, and how their jealousies of one another in the end lead to mutual destruction. This play is lead by Lear’s blind, foolish betrayal of Cordelia’s love for him, which reinforces that at the heart of every betrayal lies a skewed set of values.

For Jane Eyre, her betrayal starts at the point when she falls for Rochester. The wedding day arrives, and as Jane and Mr. Rochester prepare to exchange their vows, the voice of Mr. Mason cries out that Rochester already has a wife. Mason introduces himself as the brother of that wife—a woman named Bertha. Mr. Mason testifies that Bertha, whom Rochester married when he was a young man in Jamaica, is still alive. Rochester does not deny Mason's claims, but he explains that Bertha has gone mad. Knowing that it is impossible for her to be with Rochester, Jane flees Thornfield. Although this was not a long lasting betrayal it still was betrayal none the less. At the end after Rochester looses his sight they get married and have a happy marriage and he regains the sight so all lived happily ever after!
